The PLL01 (also known as W88/890 is a 155mm gun-howitzer introduced by China North Industries Corporation Ltd (NORINCO) in 1987. It was the first artillery gun system in service with the PLA that adopts the NATO standard calibre. The Type 89’s 155mm 45-calibre gun is based on the Austrian GHN-45 design. The same gun design is also used by the PLZ45 self-propelled gun-howitzer system.
